20% Project- Week 3

This week was another good week! I was laying on my couch talking to my mom on what I should bake and possibly be a choice to cook and take to the night of the event. My mom brought up I should make a carrot wedding cake! At first I was hesitant. Then I realized It’s not so bad of an Idea. We went to the store to get all the ingredients I needed and I baked the Carrot Cake! That was a good accomplishment this week! A struggle I had this week was honestly trying to make the frosting. I had the recipe in my face but it felt like there was something missing. I kept on thinking and thinking but all along I was missing the vanilla extract. That honestly took me 15 minutes to figure out! I left off on baking the carrot cake and am looking forward to make a different weeding cake tomorrow. I had a one adjustment this week which was baking a Cake! My original plan was to just make small items like brownies, cookies, cinnamon bons, etc. I had a good week!

20% Project -Week Two.

Week two was a better week than last week. I did more research and found out many cool stuff that’s I never knew about. My topic is about the HISTORY on Baking and cooking. I at least have to have some good information which I did find on an article called “The Ancient History On Cookery”. I got information on how people would made daily meals on a regular basics. I also got information on how people would get all their ingredients to make their delicious sweets and meal. To wrap up all my information that I wanted I also got recipes that many of us still use today like Bread, Cakes and many more! That was one of my accomplishments this week. I had no struggles thankfully since I did have a struggle last week while making brownies! This week I prepared Sweet Bread. A recipe that comes from many many years ago. The process was a bit stressful but it was all worth it in the end. I started with milk, eggs, and sugar. I than put my dry ingredients which were flour, yeast, salt, and butter. I than made my dough and formed them into big bread rolls. I had no adjustments this week. I am proud of all my accomplishments this week!

Scary Experience!

Today I am writing about my experience at the Los Angeles Zoo. I was nine years old barely before when covid hit. My family and I went on a trip to the Zoo and it was fun and all except one thing. We arrived at the zoo around eleven- thirty in the morning. I was really excited to see Tigers and, Lions. My family decided to first go and see the small animals like birds, reptiles, and flamingos. I was super scared of snakes so I obviously kept my distance even though they were behind a glass. We saw the flamingos and birds, but once we entered the snake area I started shaking. I walked past it and it kept staring at me as if I did something wrong to the snake. I walked slowly but then heard a “BOOM!” I look back at the snake because it was my first suspect and it was the snake who made the noice. The snake got into an attack mode. He got up and did that attacking move and it felt like it really was going to attack me with its tongue out. I then ran so fast after and never ever been that close to a snake before. I am forever traumatized!

20% Project- Week One.

For my 20% project I am focusing on my topic. The history of Baking and Cooking! Here are a few accomplishments for this week. I went to the store and got brownie mixture boxes to make brownies! I also did very good research on my topic so that I can be prepared for my tri- fold work and layout. I also started cooking new things like, Pasta, Brownies, and Peppermint Cookies. A few struggles this week was when I was baking my brownies I used a different tray than usual a bit more smaller one and since I was used to my old tray I would always cook my brownies for about twenty two minutes. Well I did that for my brownies on my different tray and it was BAD. Once the brownies came out they honestly looked cooked well. I let it dry off and I cut up the brownies in nine equal pieces. I took a bite and the top was cooked but the middle was still fudged from the mixture. That was a disaster! I left off on cooking Brownies, Pasta, and Peppermint Cookies. I am looking forward to do more research on the History of my topic and not just research on the people who helped Baking and Cooking but what it is now known as today.

Three Famous People I Would Invite to Dinner

There are so many people I would want to invite to dinner, but these are my top three: Miss M, My Core teacher from school that is very nice and I personally think is the best teacher in the world! SpongeBob Square Pants, A fictional character from a tv show that I loved since I was a kid and I of course would invite Jared McCain,]. A famous basketball player that I look up to and he plays for Duke University. The reason why I would Invite SpongeBob Square Pants is because ever since I was little I loved him and would always watch him and I have always wanted to meet him because who cool would that be! The reason I would invite My core teacher would be because she’s a positive nice person to be around and who wouldn’t want a person like that around them! The reason why I would invite Jared McCain Is because I always watch his highlights and games. I personally think he is the best College Basketball Player and I would love to meet him and see how Jared McCain is as a person outside of the court.
